I enjoyed Mulan so much, that it was only the 2nd Disney Meal we ever did! It just goes to show that although the pictures of the meal and treat are simple (because it originally was just meant for a fun thing for our family, and turned into a fun thing to share!) it really can be wonderfully easy and simple - and just get better from there. It’s really about the love and time spent together to make some of The Happiest Memories On Earth with those that mean the world to you.

Mulan was released on June 5th 1998 in Theaters! I was just 13 years old when this movie can out, but I was so grateful for another movie that showed strong women.

This Is How Our Meal Came Together!

To make this meal easy - you can literally get take out at Panda Express or any wonderful Chinese Food place and get a can of Mandarin Oranges
or you can always just make a portion of it.

We also made sure to bring out our chopsticks, and all our delicious sauces!

What we noticed is although the food is amazing, and we know it is amazing - when the kids are able to connect it with characters from the movie, they are even more willing to try it and eat it!

We tried to have fun with the Water! Hope you enjoyed us fitting in the lyrics!

This Is How Our Treat Came Together!

For the treat: I just sliced up Swiss Rolls for the first one, then bananas for the second - with some Nutella spread around the banana, and sprinkles.
Super easy.

There are many other amazing ideas on Pinterest as well for fruit sushi, or treat sushi, but these seemed to work just perfect for us!

What is your favorite part of Mulan? Do you have a favorite song? There are so many - but one of my favorite parts is when Mulan stands up for girls everywhere in the song

A Girl Worth Fighting For!

when she shares: “a girl who’s got a brain who always speaks her mind..” She had to fight hard, overcome many battles, inner battles too, struggles, and so much - but she also helped turn the perspective in her own way to who women really are and can choose to be. I might not choose to fight like a man on a battlefield- but I appreciate Mulan in her story, without trying to fight or prove anything- and yet she changes so much for being who she really is on the inside and thankfully the emperor praises her for her efforts and bravery in all aspects.

Also something I loved about Mulan was the music.

The Soundtrack To Mulan was released (June 2nd 1998)! Just a few days away from its movie release to theaters on June 5th 1998.

I remember this soundtrack A LOT- because although my favorite Disney movie is still Beauty and the Beast, and I still adore so much music from all the other Disney movies that came before- this is the first soundtrack I bought with my own money. I remember going down to the mall, to the CD store - there were a few of them back then, but the one in the mall was Sam Goody
Do you guys remember when that’s the only place you would go to get music?? Or does that age me?

I remember playing the soundtrack nonstop, and not only feeling deeply the classic song reflection - that Christina Aguilera sang so beautifully. But also Donny Osmond’s
Be A Man ....and all the songs in between. I mean who could forget the last song
True To Your HeartBy 98 Degrees & Stevie Wonder of all pairings in the awesomeness of boy band days and the legend Stevie Wonder! It’s an amazing soundtrack-that I still have today-and will play today for good ole’ memories sake!
Do you remember the songs?! Which one is your favorite? Do you have a favorite Disney Soundtrack?!
